A member of Sitra’s Venture Capital Investment Team, Juha Vapaavuori works in portfolio undertakings and fund investments.

What?

Juha has versatile experience in venture capital investments, from the initial capital investment stage to working on the boards of directors of listed companies. He has gathered extensive experience in different companies, including those in the fields of bioscience, life sciences and chemicals.

Juha graduated as a chemist from the University of Helsinki. He started his career in the medical industry in the early 1980s, continued his career at Tekes before moving to Sitra in 1999.

What else?

Juha likes to use the distillation and synthesising skills he picked up as a chemist in preparing meals. He is keen on gardening, an interest that runs in his family, and has been particularly lauded for his skills in growing apples.
