Kari Herlevi

I serve as the Programme Director for Sitra’s Circular Economy Programme, part of Sitra’s international activities. The programme is responsible for Sitra’s international projects such as EU CERC, PSLifestyles and WCEF.

The circular economy promotes sustainable development by reducing the consumption of natural resources and the generation of waste. This is particularly important on a global scale. The projects have received significant international funding. The goal is to launch new impactful international initiatives in the circular economy also in the future.

I have been working with the circular economy at Sitra since 2015. Before that, I led the Green Growth programme related to the circular economy at Business Finland (previously Tekes), which had a funding volume of over 100 million euros. I have also worked abroad, including in the Silicon Valley, California, in the field of cleantech. Having worked on sustainability issues for a long time, my expertise also covers topics related to business strategies and internationalisation.

I am keen to hear more about new collaboration opportunities in the circular economy internationally.
