Who?
Ritva Viljanen works as Senior advisor in public-sector leadership renewal. She leads debate initiatives where the goal is to get public-sector leadership included in forthcoming government programmes and policy measures. A decentralised administration requires new and faster leadership methods that can also be used to manage complicated phenomena.
What?
Ritva has master’s degrees in law and in social sciences. She has worked in three ministries – finance, justice and the interior – and seen public administration from many angles. She has also led a central administration agency. Ritva has been named public-sector developer of the year three times during her career. Most recently, she was deputy mayor of the city of Helsinki and permanent secretary of the Ministry of the Interior.
Contact Ritva if you want to know more about public-sector activities and leadership. She can answer questions about current activities and also provide information about the past 30 years.
What else?
Ritva has a Winnie the Pooh attitude:
“When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing you say to yourself?” asked Piglet.
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.
Ritva collects cookbooks, and cooking at the cottage is the most fun of all. Silence is music for the soul.
